Crown Chakra | Sahasrara

The Crown Chakra, located at the top of the head, represents our connection to the divine and higher consciousness. It is associated with the pituitary gland, often referred to as the "master gland”, located in the centre of the brain in line with the top of your nose and controls the functions of other glands in the endocrine system. It releases hormones that stimulate the production of hormones in other glands. 

If this centre is blocked or out of balance, we can feel disconnected, spiritual emptiness, or an inability to find purpose in life. The crown chakra is linked to every other chakra. When in balance, we are in harmony with all things. This energy centre’s element is thought, the mantra “I know”, and resonates with the colour white and violet, note B tones and crystals Clear Quartz, Moonstone, Amethyst, Selenite, and Howlite at the frequency of 768 HZ.

Third Eye | Ajna

The Third eye, located between the eyebrows, represents our intuition and spiritual awareness. It is associated with the pineal gland, located deep at the base of the brain, between the back of your thought and the back of your head, connecting to light via circadian rhythm and melatonin secretion. The pineal gland is sensitive to all electromagnetic frequencies besides visible light and can produce corresponding melatonin that will change our view of reality.

If this centre is blocked, we experience a lack of clarity, a lack of trust in intuition, or not being able to connect with our higher selves. Physical signs include issues with sight or concentration, hearing, concentration, sleeping, and depression. When this gland is in balance, our brain works clearly, we are more conscious of our inner and outer world and see and perceive more, which is why it is referred to as “the door to higher dimensions”. Throat Chakra | Vishuddha

The throat chakra is located in the centre of the throat, connected to the thyroid gland and parathyroid gland, and influences our ability to communicate effectively and express our authentic selves. The thyroid gland produces hormones that regulate metabolism and energy levels, and the parathyroid gland regulates calcium levels in the body.

If the throat chakra is blocked or imbalanced, we have difficulty expressing our thoughts and experience fear of public speaking or a feeling of not being heard. Physical manifestations include problems with voice, and throat, mood swings, anxiety, fatigue, and joint pain. When this centre is in balance, we are able to voice our present truth and express ourselves and our love in the best way. We feel the need to share our thoughts and feelings. The throat chakra’s element is space, the mantra “I speak”, and resonates with the colour blue, note G tones and crystals Aquamarine, Lapis Lazuli, Turquoise, Amazonite, Agate, Larimar at the frequency of 672 HZ.

Heart Chakra | Anahata

The Heart Chakra, located at the centre of the chest, is associated with the thymus gland and governs love, compassion, and emotional well-being. The thymus gland is the body’s main immunity gland also known as “the fountain of youth”, responsible for the growth, repair, and regeneration of the body.

If this centre is blocked or out of balance, we feel resentment, jealousy, loneliness and unable to connect with others. Physical signs include heart problems, asthma and weight issues. When the heart chakra is in balance, we care about others, we feel genuine love for life and want to work in cooperation for the greatest good of the community. We can form healthy relationships, experience unconditional love, feel whole, and we are satisfied with who we are. The heart chakra’s element is air, the mantra “I love”, and resonates with the colour green and pink, note F# tones and crystals Rose Quartz, Jade, Aventurine, Moss Agate, Amazonite, Morganite, Pink Tourmaline, Peridot at the frequency of 594 HZ.

Solar Plexus | Manipura

The Solar Plexus, located in the pit of the stomach, is associated with the pancreas and relates to our personal power, self-esteem, and directed intention. The pancreas, behind the stomach, has a crucial role in regulating blood sugar levels.

If this energy centre is blocked, it can lead to low self-esteem, a sense of powerlessness, and a lack of motivation and can manifest in physical issues like ulcers, heartburn, eating disorders, and indigestion. When the solar plexus is in balance, we use our will and drive to overcome our environment and the conditions in our lives, we feel empowered and confident. The heart chakra’s element is fire, the mantra “I do”, and resonates with the colour yellow, note E tones and crystals Citrine, Calcite, Tiger’s Eye, Pyrite, Sunstone, Agate at the frequency of 528 HZ.

Sacral Chakra | Svadhishana

The Sacra Chakra is located slightly below our navel, connected to the reproductive glands (ovary for females and testes for males), and it is responsible for our reproduction, procreation, creativity, passion, sexuality and sexual identity.

If this energy centre is blocked, we can experience creative blocks, emotional volatility, or sexual dysfunction, and can manifest in physical issues such as urinary tract infections, lower back pain, and impotency. When this chakra is in balance, our creative energy flows, and we experience a healthy and fulfilling sexual life. The sacral chakra’s element is water, the mantra “I feel”, and resonates with the colour orange, note D tones and crystals Citrine, Tiger’s Eye, Carnelian, Sunstone, Aragonite, Amber at the frequency of 480 HZ.

Root Chakra | Muladhara

The first energy centre, the Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine, and it represents our foundation and connection to the physical world. It is associated with the adrenal glands and governs our sense of stability and security. The adrenal glands are located on the top of your kidneys and produce hormones that help regulate stress responses, blood pressure and electrolyte balance. This is the centre of holding on or letting go – consuming or eliminating.

If this chakra is blocked, it leads to feelings of fear, insecurity, and instability and we experience physical issues like arthritis, constipation, bladder, or colon problems. When this energy centre is in balance, we feel grounded, safe, and secure. The root chakra’s element is earth, the mantra “I am”, and resonates with the colour red and brown, note C tones and crystals Garnet, Blood Stone, Hematite, Obsidian, and Ruby at the frequency of 432 HZ.

Pendulums

Pendulums are a great tool to use to identify which chakra needs attention. The method is to hold the pendulum with your right hand above (if you are lying down) or in front (if you are sitting up) of each chakra. If the pendulum moves clockwise – the way your chakras are rotating when clear, then move on to the next one. If the pendulum doesn’t move or it starts circling anticlockwise, then that chakra is blocked. You can then place the relevant crystal that resonates with that chakra on that chakra point on your body to clear it. You can of course also just simply place the crystals on your chakra point whenever you meditate to ignite each chakra. 

1. Before you begin, relax, and connect to life force energy with a short meditation.
2. Hold the pendulum in front of the chakra meridian that you want to check (if you want to check all your energy centres, start with the root chakra), and wait for the pendulum to get into resonance.
   • If the pendulum spins clockwise, that chakra is clear, you can move on to the next chakra.
   • If the pendulum stops and doesn’t spin or spin anticlockwise, then that chakra is blocked.
   • If the pendulum spins very slowly in a small circle the chakra is imbalanced.
3. Go through all your chakras one by one, when you identify the ones that are blocked, the crystal chakra healing can begin.
4. After the healing, you can use the pendulums again to check if the clearing worked.

Crystal chakra healing

There are various ways to heal the chakras with crystals. The most popular way is to place the crystals on the corresponding chakra points on your body. Take a crystal wand and start moving the wand clockwise above the crystal on your body to get that chakra to start spinning in the right direction again. You can also chant the associated sound or listen to sounds resonating with the associated chakra at the same time to help harmonise these energy centres. Focus your attention on each chakra where you feel it vibrate. Don’t forget, where attention goes, energy flows!

You can of course also just simply place the crystals on your chakra points whenever you meditate to ignite each chakra without using a wand. 

If you are limited with time, take a tumble or palm stone of the type of crystal associated with that chakra or a piece of jewellery with that crystal and make sure you intentionally touch and focus on the energetic vibration the crystal provides any time of the day.
